BIOGRAPHY
Jessica is a musical director, rehearsal pianist and freelance musician currently conducting Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as musical director on the UK & Ireland Tour. Based in York since the completion of her degree, she has also recently been working on the Annie UK & Ireland tour, as well as being cover musical director for the RSC on their productions of Box of Delights and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Her work in the North includes working on shows in Manchester, Liverpool and Sheffield, while closer to home she has worked extensively with various groups across Yorkshire.
Although no stranger to the baton for productions with larger orchestras, Jessica is most often found conducting from the piano. Through various productions she has gained experience in typesetting, orchestrating and arranging for
an aspect she enjoys getting stuck into. Jessica also has a passion for the voice and recently qualified as a Vocal Health First Aider alongside doing regular CPD training in vocal technique, while as a viola player and saxophonist she regularly plays for other companies across Yorkshire. When not in the theatre, Jessica can be found teaching at York Stage School – set up by one of York’s leading directors, Nik Briggs. Alongside Nik, Jessica delivers weekly drama and vocal coaching to youngsters of all ages, and regularly leads ‘Show in a Week’ experiences during
school holidays. She also teaches piano and violin lessons to
students of all
ages both privately and at St John Fisher Catholic
and has experience with both curriculum
High School in Harrogate,
and instrumental classroom teaching through her post as the Teacher in charge of Music at renowned preparatory school, St Martin’s Ampleforth. She has a current DBS certificate and training in paediatric first aid.
